Classes for singers and pianists (accompanists/répétiteurs)

Master Classes

Singers and pianists (accompanists/répétiteurs)

The master classes for singers and pianists are designed for performers wishing to undertake more in-depth study of the stylistic features of a specific repertoire.

The first series took place at the home of the Fundación Guerrero in Madrid between 2 and 4 November 2012 and included morning and afternoon sessions. The focus was on performing Italian, French and Spanish opera, including zarzuela. Classes were given by conductor and composer Miquel Ortega, regarded as one of the greatest experts in the Spanish repertoire, as demonstrated by his work in some of the most prestigious opera houses of Europe and Latin Americca.

During the sessions, a variety of works were analysed and their technical details and difficulties examined in detail. Advice was also offered on the students’ own performances, and on matters arising from participants’ questions.
